The Parish of Pilning and Severn Beach is located in the very South West corner of the unitary authority of South Gloucestershire. It has a population of around 4000. The Chair of the Pilning and Severn Beach Parish Plan Group is Jane Davey.
The Government wishes to give rural communities a bigger opportunity to run their own affairs, and to set out a vision for their town or village to guide its future development.
The plan should cover everything of relevance to the people who live in the Parish including social, economic and environmental issues. It will need to address the needs of the entire community and everyone should have an opportunity to participate in its preparation. It should address all issues of concern to the community together in one document.
The Plan will also include an action plan, which will not only identify local need, but propose ways in which to address it. A copy will be distributed to every household in the community. This document will summarize the Parish Plan and form a framework for bidding for money from the Countryside Agency and from other funding bodies.
